Sake Brewery

Tamamura-Honten a brewery producting a local brand of sake called "Engi" and local beer is located just 10min on foot from Kokuya hotel. This company has been steeped in local history since it was founded in Bunka 2 (1805) by Kisoji Sato. This brewery, constructed a hundred years ago in a landscape of mountains and snow, has now been carefully renovated and reopened as an art gallery. The collections of the successive masters of Tamamura-Honten, the Sato family, are now on display at this historic site. We hope to welcome many visitors to the gallery and hope it will prove a stimulating backdrop for cultural exchange and enjoyment.

In the Sake Brewery are:
- Tasting corner - tasting, purchasing local sake, wine and beer (English interpretation available)
- Brew House - you can observe the brewing process in the cellar.
                     Each brew is virtually handmade only with an all-malt mash, hops, pure water
- Exhibition of Japanese modern paintings
- Exhibition of Tamamura collections of local artifacts
