It's time to relax—it's time for a rejuvenating bath. A room inspired by the Japanese inns of old.
Since Kokuya's establishment long ago in the early Edo period, the owner has succeeded to the name "Ichizaemon" and continues to this day.
Throughout Kokuya's history, its owners have continued to show hospitality to their guests, providing them with true hot spring experiences.
Let our special room, "Kuon," which means "eternal" in Japanese, make the memories of your trip just that—truly unforgettable.

KOKUYA-KUON
An elegant space
This new special room created here in this historical hot spring town is unlike any other.
Go through the private entrance, and you'll find the main room made in the sukiya-zukuri style. Connected to this room are the anteroom and the bedroom.
We designed the room's interior so it can be accessible to everyone, with almost no steps, while keeping that special Japanese feel.
Adding to the room's atmosphere are some of the pillars and beams in the room that are old wooden pillars once used in the town's Onbashira Festival.
Our dedicated staff will do their best to make your stay a comfortable one.
Enjoy a selection of high-quality hot spring baths to your heart's content.
Kokuya has seven types of hot springs.
We have carefully selected three unique ones to source from for the room's indoor bath.
You can choose the type of hot water for room's indoor bath according to what you want or your physical needs.
There is also a hinoki wooden open-air bath, a Finnish sauna, and a cold bath for you to enjoy.
With a wide selection of hot springs to choose from, now's your chance to truly enjoy modern toji (a therapeutic bathing method in Japan).
*When you make a reservation, we will ask you which hot spring you want for the room's indoor bath to source water from.
Savor only the best of Shinshu and Japan's seasonal foods.
Featuring the bounty of Shinshu's mountains, enjoy kaiseki cuisine (a traditional Japanese tasting course comprised of many small tea ceremonies).
Here you can savor dishes that make use of the bountiful ingredients that come with each season and are made using traditional methods with some added ingenuity, like beef from Shinshu cattle raised on a staple diet of apples.
Enjoy seasonal dishes for both breakfast and dinner made especially for the Kuon room experience.
*Menus vary depending on the season.
